Race Day Shoes

If your chasing those last couple of minutes or seconds then these are the shoes for you. Don’t expect too much mileage from these super shoes but if you have invested all that time in the training then consider an investment in one of these monsters.

Adidas Adios Pro 3:

Current king of the super shoe world soaking up long distance wins all over the planet. Reasonably stable (for a super shoe) and supremely fast. Using energy rods instead of a solid plate it keeps the weight minimal and avoids a slappy foot strike that can occur in plated shoes.

Adidas Takumi Sen 9:

A little less shoe that the Adios pro. Designed for shorter races up to half marathon. It’s got a more natural, lower to the ground, more flexible feeling than the pro. If you like a more traditional race shoe this maybe the way to go.

Altra Vanish Carbon:

A firmer feeling super shoe but if your used to zero drop this is definitely a fast shoe . The carbon plate makes it pretty stiff. Not being too soft it also feels a bit more stable than most.

Hoka Rocket X 2

Unfortunately this hasn’t been tested by us yet but as its Hoka it’s no doubt a long course triathletes wet dream. Expect to see a plethora of these at the pointy end of every Ironman Race.
